• Question: Do you think that the government should invest more money into hospitals and other medical services rather than using money on things like trident which are unnecessary?

      I think that there is a need for both and so the government has a difficult job to balance how much they spend on all public services and the military etc. But of course I would like more spent on the Health Service but in the real world the government does not have an unlimited budget to spend.

      I completely agree with Chris. There is never enough money for everything so whatever government is in power has a real struggle to balance the books. Of course as a healthcare worker, I would want more money invested in the NHS, but that takes from another service which would also affect me: education etc.

      That’s a good question but difficult to answer. It’s important that investing more money in hospitals and front line services does not result in cuts to other essential but less newsworthy services like mental health, learning disabilities, sexual health and public health.

      Yes they should invest more into health services – Currently as a country we don’t invest as much in health services (as a percentage of the country’s total spending) compared to other 1st world countries. That money would have to come from somewhere.
      Our population is ageing, people are living longer with chronic illness, so its going to cost more to look after them.
      I personally don’t think Trident is unnecessary and don’t know how much we spend on it and whether it could be trimmed
