  I did 2 years as a doctor after graduating where I rotated around different specialties eg A&E, GP, surgery. I then worked for a year in psychiatry before taking a year out to work for a charity for a year. I’m now back in psychiatry, so in total around 3 years so far.
  
  Training as a doctor is a long haul and hard work but totally worth it!

  Richard here: In total 26 years, I started out as a nursing assistant on a ward working with individuals with a learning disability, during my time there I did my masters training in Art Psychotherapy qualifying in 1999. Since then I have gone on to work in Adult mental health in a variety of settings, hospital wards, day hospitals and specialist teams working with people with personality problems and I have still a lot to learn!
