It can vary from day to day, so you might see 5 people in one day or 1 person in another day. For example, if 1 person is really ill and they also happen to need help with keeping safe, getting medication or being admitted, then it might take the whole day to support that person to keep safe. In that kind of situation, the rest of the team rallies around you to help so although it sounds like a lot, the team is always in the background helping you out.

maybe four , plus there are supervision/ meetings / paperwork, more if you do a group which might have 4-6 people

We generally have around 20 patients on a typical adult inpatient psychiatry ward where we work.
We also have a ‘place of safety’. A place of safety is a bedroom where a person is brought to if they are acutely unwell in the community and need to be somewhere safe to be assessed by a psychiatrist.
