It was very difficult. I think there is a lot of pressure to decide early on, but don’t let it get to you. I didn’t know I wanted to be a psychiatrist until my early 20s. The beauty of a career in medicine is that you can be a lot of different thing as a doctor. I actually thought I wanted to be an astronaut when I was younger! I’m glad I chose differently.
yes didn’t really plan at school, just looked to study something I liked (biology – then did close to it environmental studies as thought more career prospects) wish we’d had more guidance aptitude tests and work experience
I found my publishing job by chance after my degree and the art therapy emerged later. would have had not idea about it at school. lucky I got there in the end
