It is extremely difficult seeing ill people around me everyday, especially when your work is stretched so much that you sometimes don’t have as much time to deal with them as you need to.
I deal with a lot of elderly people who are at the end of their life, and I think what helps with this is an acceptance that we are all human and that death is natural.
You do also sometimes see people improve and leave hospital and this is a rewarding feeling.
No as we bring something positive to them, whether it be medicine/therapy to help them get better or arrange the right care package to make their lives more comfortable and for them to stay at home if pallative.

Sometimes yes. But if we are able to offer good care and support them with what they need then it is also very rewarding.
