For the last week, students and healthcare professionals have been engaging online in I’m a Medic, Get me out of here. Together they’ve talked about everything from favourite jobs in healthcare, keeping motivated at university, gaining work experience at a GP, exam grades from the 90s, alternative lives, and fish or chips (you have to choose?!).
Six individual healthcare professionals and two teams are talking to the students in the General Practice Zone, including General Practitioners and trainee GPs, Nurse Practitioners and a Practice Manager. See all the people and schools taking part in the event here.
In total, after the first seven days, there’s been:
- 200 school students logging in to the zone
- 68 questions asked by students sent to the healthcare professionals
- 87 votes cast by students for their favourites
And not to mention all the conversation in 6 live chats so far.
This March there’s still much more to come. More students will be logging in this week and voting for who they think should win the £500 prize, before the winner is announced on Friday at 3 PM. Find out before anyone else from the announcement in the staffroom. Best of luck to all the healthcare professionals!
