East Sussex Children's Integrated Therapy Service answered on 22 Jan 2019:

(Stephanie, Speech and Language Therapist) Tourette’s syndrome is a condition where a person makes tics – involuntary sounds and movements. It tends to start in childhood, but can start later in life. Tics and other symptoms sometimes improve but for some it is a life long syndrome.
