the usual is waking up, getting me and kids ready for school and work. breakfast, out the door, drop them to school and then i drive to work. If a short day for me, ill pick them up from school and we go to their activities, like football, Beavers. If im on a long day, they go to afterschool club.
I usually get up, feed the dogs, have breakfast. After getting ready I’ve started using the tram to get to work. It’s great for reading and having some thinking time. In the office I check emails and reply to those that are urgent. Then I might have various meetings to attend on zoom or teams. I have a couple of projects to look after so I might do some work on those, either planning things or checking what needs doing next in readiness for writing a report. I get the tram home. Most nights I go to the gym, then have dinner, walk the dogs and bed
Get up, get the kids ready for school, take the kids to school, stop in little cafe and buy latte. Go home, check emails first. Then get out my planning journal and review my priorities for the day.
If I have meetings, meetings interupt this routine a bit – they just need to be slotted in when everyone can come. But if I have no meetings then before lunch is for proof reading, emailing, doing data and things like that -things that are short tasks that I can get ticked off a list. After lunch is my thinking and concentrating time for longer tasks that won’t get finished all at once, like writing a report.
I finish to get the kids at 2.45pm. My children are younger than you, so I try to keep my diary clear until after they are in bed. Then I sign back in and do more emailing, or more writing or research for reports from about 7pm to 9pm or so.
Pretty simple: wake up, think of what I am grateful for in my life, and then onwards with business – clinical work in the practice and some research stuff whenever I have a while. Except for work I like to put some physical activity between different chores, being it usually climbing, yoga or running.
