• Question: Is your job/doing these live things easy??

      These live things are a lot of fun! I don’t know about easy – I don’t think I have ever had to type so fast! – but it’s very interesting. The questions are making me think quite hard about my reasons for doing things.

      My job is more complex. Any job worth doing has easy days and hard days. And if a job is too hard you get stressed, but if it’s too easy you get bored. I think my job is usually the right amount easy. I have days I feel on top of the world, and days I feel like it’s wading in concrete, but usually I have enough challenges to keep me interested but not so many I can’t relax.

      The chat’s with young people on the I’m a medic are great. They help us talk to a wide range of schools and young people. Sometimes we are uncertain that we’ve had a chat which will help a young person choose a career in health care.

      Having said that, they can be a lot of fun. It’s helping improve my typing skills since the questions come in quite quickly. We get asked some random questions which make us think or laugh or gasp

      Doing the live chats is much easier than the job, but gives me the same buzz and energy as consulting- not to get too deep but it involves actively paying attention, being present and responding appropriately to the questions put, and caring enough about the person asking what they need to know.
