Study hard at school. Do science at GCSE (either combined science or biology) and then biology A-level if chance. Biology is available as a degree subject, but there are lots of different variations and areas within biology, so worth exploring what ‘bit’ of biology they are most interested in and trying to study that as an undergrad at uni.
Learn the Krebs Cycle! My room-mate at University was a Biology student and was very committed. He had a bit more free time with lectures than I did and finished his degree after 3 years.
Your choices are completely open and it’s an exciting time of life in Year 9, but if Biology is your thing then look at Biology topics and see what bits really interest you. Being passionate about whatever you’ll do makes any job much more satisfying!
Catherine gave a fantastic answer and I would follow her advice too! When it comes to Biology, if there is a specific area that interests you feel free to go beyond your GCSE specification and learn about it. Also speaking to a biologist or getting work experience in a relevant field will give you a great insight into the life of a biologist.
