We earn enough to be comfortable. As you progress through your career, gaining more experience and specialisation; you earn more. So a trainee like myself earns 48k per year full-time but this would increase once training is finished….hope that helps 🙂
The amount you earn varies with roles (lots of GPs have more than one job, like me!), where you are based and whether you work full time or part time. There are national pay scales for doctors in training which vary yearly according to the cost of living and Government advice. Ultimately once you are qualified you can choose how much you want to work and therefore how much you are paid!

If you want to look at salaries in healthcare, google NHS Agenda for Change pay bands. This gives indications of possible earnings for staff.
